A Landmark Exhibition – The First of Its Kind in China

The exhibition features 119 exhibits spanning eight centuries (from the 10th to the 17th century) and corresponds to China's Song Dynasty through the early Qing Dynasty.

This is the first Renaissance-themed exhibition in Greater China to make Western books its raison d'être. It encompasses not only rare books but also sculptures, paintings, letters, and other works of art.

This exhibition constitutes an exceptional survey of the intellectual foundations of Western civilization. Featuring a distinguished collection of Renaissance masterpieces, it brings together the seminal works of major philosophers, writers, artists, and scientists, including Plato, Aristotle, Lucretius, Aristophanes, Euripides, Virgil, Ovid, Horace, Caesar, Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Machiavelli, Alberti, Montaigne, Dürer, Galileo, Newton, and Descartes. Through these enduring works, visitors encounter a dialogue across time that traces the intellectual traditions, cultural exchanges, and evolving ideas that have shaped the course of Western civilization.
